Strawberry Venus Tarts for Sweetness and Prosperity

Photography by Alina Matveycheva

There are certain days in May when the house asks to be softened.

Taurus season does this. It reminds us that wealth is not only money in the account, but cream in the tart shell, ripe fruit on the cutting board, coffee still warm in the cup, and a kitchen that smells like something worth staying home for.

These strawberry Venus tarts are made as an edible attraction spell — one meant to call sweetness back into the home, gentleness back into relationships, and prosperity back into the nervous system.

Because prosperity is easier to receive when the body stops living like famine is coming.

May 13 carries the lingering fullness of the Scorpio moon and the stabilizing hand of Taurus sun energy, making it an ideal day to create something both decadent and grounding. Strawberries correspond to love, magnetism, and heart-centered desire. Cream speaks to nourishment and softness. Pastry, made from grain and butter, anchors the spell in domestic abundance.

This is not a dessert made in a rush.

This is a dessert assembled slowly, while deciding that your home deserves tenderness.

The Spell Meaning of Each Ingredient

Strawberries – love, sensuality, attraction, heart-opening sensual joy, Venus energy
Honey and vanilla – affection, soothing, emotional warmth
Butter pastry – domestic security, foundation, earthly pleasure
Coffee – movement, focus, money activation
Cinnamon – prosperity drawing

Vanilla cream filling – comfort, sweetness, emotional soothing
Golden tart shell – stability, home, material security
Coffee with cinnamon or cocoa dusting – stimulation, confidence, money movement

Together they form a table of invitation:
love, enoughness, and the willingness to receive.

As You Assemble, Speak:

“I call sweetness where there has been strain.
I call plenty where there has been fear.
I call beauty back into the ordinary rooms of my life.”

Repeat while placing each layer.

No one has to hear you.
The food does.

Serve This When:

  • the house feels tense

  • finances feel tight

  • you want to reconnect with a partner

  • you need reminding that pleasure is productive too

  • you want to ritualize receiving instead of hustling

Eat slowly. Drink something warm. Sit at the table longer than necessary.

That is part of the work.

Bruja Note

May does not always require dramatic fire rituals. Sometimes the most potent spell is teaching your body that sweetness is allowed to stay.

THE MOST COMMON WAYS TO SEAL A FOOD SPELL

1. CLOCKWISE FINAL MOTION (most common)

After the dish is fully assembled:

  • make 3 clockwise circles over it with your hand,
    or

  • stir clockwise three final times,
    or

  • lightly tap the plate three times.

While doing so say:

“Sealed in sweetness.”
“Sealed in peace.”
“Sealed in abundance.”

or whatever the working is.

Clockwise = drawing in / locking in / completion.

This is the easiest folk method.

What You Will Need

For the tart shells

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1–2 tablespoons cold water

  • pinch of sea salt

For the vanilla cream filling

  • 1 cup mascarpone or cream cheese

  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon honey

For the topping

  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, sliced

Optional coffee companion

  • brewed coffee or latte

  • pinch cinnamon or cocoa powder

How to Make Them

1. Prepare the tart shells

In a bowl, combine flour, powdered sugar, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture becomes crumbly. Add egg yolk and just enough cold water to form a dough. Wrap and chill for 20 minutes. Press dough into mini tart pans. Prick lightly with a fork and bake at 350°F for 15–18 minutes until golden. Allow to cool fully.

While they bake, say:

“May this house hold what is sweet.”

Yes, even if you feel ridiculous.

Especially then.

2. Make the Venus cream

Whip mascarpone, heavy cream, powdered sugar, vanilla, and honey together until smooth and thick. You want it lush — not runny. Cream is the softness layer of this spell. It represents emotional cushioning, ease, and the willingness to be nourished.

3. Assemble the tarts

Spoon cream into each cooled shell. Layer sliced strawberries generously over the top until almost overflowing.

Do not make them sparse. May abundance should not look apologetic.

As you place the strawberries, repeat:

“I welcome sweetness.
I welcome enough.
I welcome what stays.”

4. Serve with coffee

Dust your coffee with cinnamon for prosperity or cocoa for comfort. Sit down to eat instead of grazing while standing. This matters. You are teaching the nervous system that beauty is not an emergency.
