What Twin Flame “Love” Looks Like Before You Choose Yourself
Photography by Abdullahi Santuraki
Few people are meant to walk this path, and even fewer truly understand what a twin flame connection feels like.
People will tell you, "Just move on. Just forget them. Find someone else."
But it doesn't work like that.
Because for those who have experienced it, this connection doesn't feel ordinary. And for those who haven't, it's almost impossible to explain.
At some point, you stop listening to others and begin listening to your inner voice.
And then, one day, you realize:
It wasn't just love.
It felt deeper. More intense. More consuming than anything you've ever experienced.
And that's exactly why it's so hard to let go.
Because what people call a "twin flame connection" can sometimes become emotional dependency.
You don't just miss them.
You feel like you're losing a part of yourself.
You tell yourself:
"This is meant to be."
"This is my person."
"I can't walk away from this."
But here's the truth no one talks about:
Not every intense connection is healthy.
And not every soul connection is meant to be stayed in.
Sometimes it's there to show you where you abandon yourself, where you tolerate less than you deserve, and where you confuse attachment with love.
Healing doesn't look like forgetting them.
It looks like slowly, painfully releasing the illusion.
Until one day, you can breathe again.
You feel lighter.
Clearer.
Free.
And you realize:
You were never trying to find them.
You were always trying to find yourself.
Excerpt from Under My Skin:
"I was letting go of this attachment millimeter by millimeter… pulling it out like hot tar… until one day I realized I had lost tons of illusions. I could finally breathe. Nothing was holding me anymore. And I understood - I was never looking for him. I was always finding myself."
With love,
