Letter from the Editor

Written by Epifania Arriagada, Editor-in-Chief

As I sit here writing this, I am in complete awe. Not just of myself, but of every woman who trusted this vision enough to bring her voice into it. What exists now did not exist a year ago. It lived only as an idea. A quiet knowing. And somehow, together, we made it real.

When I first started Bruja Magazine, I assumed it should be monthly. That was the model I saw everywhere. Constant output. Constant production. Constant movement. But it did not take long for me to realize that Bruja Magazine was never meant to exist in that rhythm. This magazine asked for something slower. Something more intentional.

Creation, when it is honest, takes time.

It takes time to listen. It takes time to recognize when something is ready. And it takes time to build something that carries weight and meaning, not just content.

Moving to a quarterly format was not a compromise. It was an alignment. It allowed this magazine to become what it was always meant to be. A living archive of where we are. A record of voices, stories, and creative expression that deserve space to fully exist.

What moves me most is witnessing the contributors step into their own authority. Many of these women are not waiting for permission anymore. They are claiming space. They are documenting their work. They are trusting themselves enough to be seen.

That is the true purpose of Bruja Magazine.

Not just to publish art, but to reflect back to artists their own power. To create a place where intuitive women, photographers, writers, and creators can see themselves clearly and know that their voice belongs in the world.

This issue, released in the season of Imbolc, arrives at a time that has always symbolized emergence. The return of light. The quiet shift from inward reflection to outward creation. It reminds us that nothing blooms overnight. Everything unfolds in its own time.

Bruja Magazine is no different.

This magazine is growing. I am growing with it. And what we are building together is only the beginning.

To every contributor, every reader, and every person who has supported this vision, thank you for believing in something that did not exist until we chose to create it.
