A Ceremony for Clarity, Direction, and Truth

This ritual is designed to work with the retrograde instead of resisting it. Think of it as a recalibration rite—aligning your inner compass before the next chapter unfolds.

You’ll need:
a candle in a fire color (red, orange, or gold)
a small bowl of water
a pen and paper
a piece of bay leaf (optional)
a lighter
a comfortable quiet space

Step 1: Ground the fire
Sit with the candle unlit. Place your hand over your heart and your other hand over your abdomen. Inhale slowly. Exhale even slower. Imagine the fire of Sagittarius warming your chest, loosening whatever truth has been hiding.

Step 2: Light the flame
Light your candle and say softly:
“Guide my voice. Guide my aim. Reveal what I am ready to see.”

The flame represents Sagittarius’ clarity and Mercury’s illumination.

Step 3: The Truth List
Write three things you’ve been avoiding, denying, or postponing.
Big or small. Internal or external.
This list is your retrograde medicine.

Under each item, write:
“What is the real truth here?”

Not the polite truth.
The real one.

Step 4: The Arrow of Intention
On a second paper, write one thing you want aligned before this retrograde ends:
a direction
a decision
a boundary
a clarity
a release

This is your arrow.

If you have bay leaves, write a single word on the leaf representing your intention:
“clarity,” “courage,” “alignment,” “truth,” “direction,” etc.

Step 5: The Fire Offering
Hold the truth list to your heart and whisper:
“I am ready to see without fear.”

Burn the paper safely in the candle flame and drop it into the bowl of water to extinguish.

Next, pass your bay leaf or intention paper through the flame without burning it and say:
“When the retrograde ends, my aim will be true.”

Place the leaf under the candle until the cycle is complete.

Step 6: Close the Ritual
Blow out the candle and thank the energy:
“Mercury, show me what I need to know.
Sagittarius, guide where my arrow must go.”

Carry the intention with you.
Write it on a card. Keep it in your wallet. Set it as your phone background. Revisit it whenever delays or frustrations arise—they’re sharpening the path toward exactly what you asked for.
